General:Date of Release: 10th November 1983 Model Nr: TB-94 Game-Play:In Mario's Bombs away you move Mario left and right through the jungle. His mission is to receive a bomb from his comrade on the left side, then deliver it to his fellow-man on the right side to blow up the enemy. The enemy is waiting in the trees and try to ignite the bomb while Mario is carrying it. Mario also has to watch out for the fire from the oil spill below which the smoker has ignited, so he doesn't blow up. After delivering 5 bombs the enemy is wiped out. Game differences:In Game B, the number of enemy torches increases, and the action speeds up more. It's tougher for Mario to carry out his orders! Trivia:Maximum score displayed is 999 points. When the score reaches 300 all the misses are cleared and if no misses are recorded the points are awarded at double value until a miss is scored. Cheats and tricks:You must deliver the bomb to Mario's buddy when he has his hands out. Points:1 point when Mario advances one step to the right holding a bomb. 5 points when Mario delivers the bomb to his buddy on the right side. 10 points when 5 bombs are dropped on the enemy. Misses:When Mario loses to a torch or oil fire, he gets blown up and has to retreat to his side of the screen. When you have 3 misses (shown by lit bombs on the upper left side of the screen.), the game ends. Other notices:If you hold in Game A or Game B key the highest previous score will be displayed. If the unit is left as it is after game is over, time display will appear in about four minutes. A game is not interrupted even if TIME key or other game keys are depressed during game playing. Pressing ACL switch or removing batteries erases high score from memory.
Issue Differences (click to enlarge pictures)The table will show how to tell the different Issues that were made: N/A The battery covers seem to have a number on the back, but they seem to vary a lot and I won't even speculate what the difference is.
